Choirs

Both of our Churches have Choirs which sing at the 10:00am services.

There is a weekly choir rehearsal on Thursdays at 6:00pm led by Katinka Mitchell, our Choir Leader.

If you are interested in joining the choir or finding out more please contact Katinka via the form below.

We also have ‘Sing Aloud Choir’ for young people, which rehearses on Tuesdays from 4:45 to 5:45pm in St Bridget’s Centre.

The choir sings at weddings, special services and once a term at our regular Sunday morning service at St Bridget’s. We follow the RSCM Voice for Life Scheme which provides young singers with vocal training and knowledge of music theory. Anyone aged from 7 to 17 is welcome to join us – to find out more contact the Rector, Alex.

      Bell Ringing

St Bridgets is extremely fortunate to have an active and enthusiastic band of ringers who practise every Tuesday evening and ring every Sunday morning for the 10:00 am service, plus additional ringing as required for weddings, funerals and national events. When looking at the online database of notable ringing, St Bridget’s featured on the first page of leading towers for quarter peals in 2023.

St Bridgets has 8 bells; 4 of which were cast in 1719, 1 was cast in 1854 and the remaining 3 were cast in 1889. The heaviest weighs 12 hundredweight or 1,367lbs or approximately 15,500 Cadbury Creme Eggs.

We are a tower within the Wirral Branch of the Chester Guild of Church Bellringers and the Wirral Branch came 2nd in both of the Guild 8 and 10 Bell Striking competitions. Both bands included 3 St Bridget’s ringers and this demonstrates the skill and commitment within our tower.  The team also enjoy ringing at other churches, day trips and meals out.
